I hadn't actually tried this keyboard for about a year after giving it a good scrub in a bath full of soapy water (one of those things manufacturers advise you not to try but which works brilliantly, provided you let the thing dry before plugging it in again). It didn't work. The Compaq refused to boot saying there wasn't a keyboard and that I should press F1 to continue. Now, I'd really like to believe that BIOS writers have an advanced sense of irony, but sadly everyone knows this isn't the case. From here. Unbelievable! :-)
