Yahoo! supports sending SMS to mobile-phones for only the following operators, as of now.
In India, you can send an SMS to Aircel Chennai, Airtel, Escotel Hutch, Idea Cellular, Oasis Cellular, Orange Mumbai, Spice Punjab and Karnataka mobile users. From here.
I looked and found a Web Service for sending SMS to India at WebServiceX, but that also doesn't support Reliance.
Usage:If your mobile number is 098XXXXXXXX ,Please enter as 98XXXXXXXX Network Covered: Airtel,Idea Cellular,Skycell ,RPG Cellular,Hutch,Celforce / Fascel,BPL Mobile,EscotelFrom here.
So, I dashed off a mail to Reliance Customer Care.
I have been a Reliance customer for a long time now and I am really satisfied with the service. However, I have a suggestion for you:
Could you consider providing Web Services for delivering SMS to Reliance customers?
This would be a great value addition and would allow developers outside Reliance Infocomm to develop many interesting applications for Reliance customers.
Please have a look at this Web Service to get a more complete idea of what I am asking for.
Thanks and Regards,
And I got a reply from them in under 7 minutes, that said:
